Patanjali’s Balkrishna's Personal Wealth Rs 25,000 Crore - Features in Frobes

New Delhi, Oct 7 (Daily Bhaskar) : Acharya Balkrishna, the close associate of Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and head of the Patanjali group, recently shocked everyone by debuting on the Forbes list of India's 100 Richest People at 48th position. His personal wealth, as estimated by Forbes, is around Rs 25,000 crores and he owns 97 percent stakes of the Patanjali. Despite all this, he is famous for living an austere life.

Usually seen wearing a white sarong (dhoti) and kurta, Balkrishna owns a luxurious SUV Range Rover which cost nearly 55 lakh in India. But owning the SUV is more about safety than the luxury.

According to a report, it was Ramdev how forced him to buy the vehicle for his safety as he has to frequently travel from his home to office and also inside the Patanjali complex which is built in the area of nearly 150 acres.

The other thing which can be associated with luxurious lifestyle is his iPhone. Apart from this, you won’t find him using other expensive items or accessories which CEOs of other companies usually flaunt.

Balkrishna, also a practitioner of Ayurveda, is often referred to as Acharya Balkrishna. Acharya, an honorary prefix reportedly conferred on him by Ramdev.

Balkrishna met Ramdev at a gurukul in Haryana and soon the bonding between them became strong and they founded an ayurvedic pharmaceutical company named Divya Pharmacy in Haridwar in the 1990s. This later became Patanjali, which was started with a loan of Rs. 50 crores.
