Mangalore: Taulava Award – ‘07 to Be Conferred on Dec 30

Mangalore, Dec 25: Tulu Nataka Kalavidara Okkuta (Tulu Dramatists Federation), in association with the department of Kannada and Culture, will be organizing annual day celebration, informed Machendranath Pandeshwar, president of Federation, at the press conference, here on Monday, December 24.

Conferment of the Taulava award and Nempu, a commemoration will be the feature of this event, he added.

The programme will be inaugurated by Fr Denis D'Sa, administrator of Fr Muller Medical College Hospital while presided over by Dr Na Da Shetty.  Saundarya Shetty of Dasara Halli town council, will be the chief guest, he added.

'Taulava' award will be conferred to K N Tailor, play writer, actor and director of Tulu movies for his contributions to Tulu filmdom and J Ravindra, director.

UR Chandar (writer), RK Mulky and Vaman G Kotian, actors in Tulu dramas and Sharat Kumar Kadri, Tulu theater musician, will be awarded posthumously, he detailed.

‘Bairawana Mahime’ authored by KK Gatti and orchestra will mesmerize the Tulu enthusiasts with the choicest of Tulu music, as part of entertainment, he added.

KK Gatti, chief secretary, Shekar Shetty Hoigebail, Nagesh P Salian and others were present at the press conference.
