Mangalore, Dec 25: ‘Go Rakshana Samiti’ and Bajrang Dal, in association with Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) would stage an agitation, at the entrance of district head quarters, on Saturday, December 29, Manohar Tuluja Ram, president of city unit of VHP, informed media persons, here on Monday, December 24.

He was addressing media persons at the press conference, held at the Vishwa Hindu Parishat Office, located near PVS circle, in the city.

The protest will be staged against the delay of district administration, to take action against those involved in the illegal cow slaughter which is rampant in the vicinity of the city and its deafening silence to take actions against those who are involved in the illegal supply of cattle to abattoirs, situated in Lakshadweep, he expressed anxiety.

Applauding the effort of the district police in nabbing the miscreants, at Bengre, who are behind the brutality against the innocent cows, the president added that the pro-Hindu organization, such as Bajrang Dal, VHP and other alike organizations have been cautioning the administration concerned on the illegal abattoirs mushrooming in the region, but, the administration has been showing its reluctance to take effective measures to curb the undesirable activity.

Implying the attack on police at Bengre, a heinous deed done with out much thinking, he said that illegal cow slaughter is cruelty at its peak. Beheading a cow before the shop belongs to an activist of Pro-Hindu organization is an apparent indication of the magnitude of the threat, which is condemnable, he detailed.

Earlier cows were taken to abattoirs as per the law, but in these days cows are stolen. Two invaluable indigenous cows had been stolen, of which one is killed and another still untraced from Cow-shelters, located at Fajir are just examples.  If this continues unabated, then the cows will have to be seen in books and paintings, he cautioned.

It was also urged by the office bearers of Bajrang Dal that the miscreants who attacked on police at Bengre should be arrested at the earliest and this trend should not be allowed to continue anymore.

Sudarshan Moodbidri, district convener, Bajrang Dal, Kateel Dinesh Pai, Goraksha Pramukh and other office bearers were present at the press conference.
