Mangalore, Dec 23: Regional Transport Authority (RTA) has issued order to compulsorily fit speed-governors which are approved by government to all commercial vehicles except three-wheelers that come for new registration, with effect from July 1, 2007.

Accordingly, all commercial vehicles with carrying capacity of over 3 tones which come for new registrations or renewals will have to be fitted with the speed governors.  The fitness certificate of all commercial vehicles will be renewed only after they are compulsorily fitted with speed-governors approved by government, with effect from January 1, 2007, as stated in the press release issued by RTO.
