Mangalore: Six Bhatkal Fishermen Nearly Drown, Escape Miraculously

Mangalore, Dec 23:
A crew of fishermen who had gone fishing in the deep sea on December 14 in a trawl boat had a providential escape, even when their boat sank in the deep water of Kapu sea here on Saturday December 22.
 
Six fishermen, including Shivaram (28), Ramesh (40), Venkatesh (28) and Parameshwar (24) from Bhatkal,  had gone fishing in a boat called  Sri Vighneshwar, and just when they were netting a catch near Kapu, a boat named Miraj hit their boat. The impact of the collision such that the boat Vighneshwar  sank in the sea. But the fishermen who were in the Miraj boat saved the other fishermen who were about to drown in the water.
 
The loss has been estimated at Rs 10 lac, said owner of the boat Sri Vighneshwar,  H Ramchandra Bangera.
