Mangalore, Dec 22: Well-known musician and principal of Pompeii College and Fr Valerian Mendonca, who has produced 25 Konkani devotional song cassettes and CDs was felicitated by his fans here on Friday December 21.

Fr Alfred Pinto, parish priest of Kinnigoli, church, well-known musician couple Wilfy and Meena Rebimbus, Rinna Mathias, chief secretary of Kuwait Canara Welfare association, Prof M Balakrishna Shetty, Prinicpal of Kateel College, Bhuvanabhirama Udupa of Yagapurusha Kinnigoli were the chief guest on the occasion.  

Speaking on the occasion Prof Balakrishna Shetty admired the qualities and values of Fr Mendonca and said that ever smiling face of Fr Mendonca was the inspiration to him to do his work and take the responsibility as a principal.  At the felicitation programme Fr Valerian was present with a laptop and was conferred with a title Bhakthi Sangeeta Sagara.

Wilfy Rebimbus said that he knew Fr Mendonca when he the former was a seminarian in the illustrious Jeppu seminary and even in his younger days he had the habit of singing.

Accepting the honour Fr Mendonca said that he has no words to express and he is overjoyed. He also thanked all the people who rendered helping hand in his life and helped to reach this stage.

Fr Gilbert D’Souza chief organizer of the programme welcomed the guests while Jossy Pinto proposed vote of thanks. Gretta D’Souza and Sharath Shetty compered the programme. Soon after the stage programme a cultural programme was held on this occasion.
