Mangalore: Konkan Railway Introduces 64 Winter Special Trains

Mangalore, Dec 20: The Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) will run 64 winter special trains to accommodate extra rush of passengers in Konkan region.

A press release from the KRCL stated that train number 109/110 CSTM-Karwar special with 17 coaches would run daily from December 1 to January 6, 2008. The special trains would stop at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar, Ratnagiri, Vilawade, Rajapur road, Kudal, Pernem, Karmali, Madgaon, Canacona and Asnoti.

The train (109) would depart from CSTM at 11.55 pm and reach Karvar next day at 1.15 pm. Train number 110 would leave Karvar at 3 pm and reach CSTM next day at 4.20 am.

Train 165/166 Ernakulam-Dadar trains would run from December 19 upto January 10. Train number 165 would leave Dadar on every Wednesday at 12.45 pm and reach Ernakulam next day at 3.45 pm. Train number 166 would leave Ernakulam on every Thursday at 7.45 pm and reach Dadar at 11.55 pm.

The trains would stop at Thane, Panvel, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Kudal, Madgaon, Karwar, Ankola, Kumta, Honnavar, Bhatkal, Kundapura, Udupi, Suratkal, Kanknadi, Kasargod, Kanhangad, Payyanur, Cannanore, Tellicherry, MAHE, Vadagara, Quilandi, Calicut, Tirur, Kuttippuram, Shoranur, Trichur and Alwaye, the release added.

Train Dadar-Kochuveli Dadar weekly (167/168) trains would leave Dadar on every Saturday from December 15 and from Kochuveli every Monday from December 17 upto January 14.

The train would leave Dadar at 12.45 pm and reach Trivandrum at 8.30 pm on the following day. The train would leave Kochuveli at 12.45 pm and reach Dadar at 11.55 pm on the following day.
