M'lore: Robbing of Former DC - Accused Awarded 3 Years RI

Mangalore, Dec 19: The city court has awarded 3 years rigorous imprisonment to four persons who were accused of robbing the former Deputy Commissioner (DC), Arvind Srivatsava and his wife, when they had gone on a stroll drive at Tannirbavi beach, 3 years ago.

Jayarama, Somnath alias Somu, residents of Baikampady, Naveen alias Nanu, Chandrashekar alias Chandra, both residents of Meenakalia, were awarded with 3 years of rigorous imprisonment.  

Arvind Srivatsav was on vacation after his wedding and had gone for a stroll to Tannirbavi along with his wife, on December 21, 2004.  It was then that the above mentioned accused had robbed off DC of his camera and other valuables.  The accused had worn mask on their faces to conceal their identity.

A case was later filed in the Panambur police station in this regard and chargesheet too was filed in the court in the course of investigation.
