SC cancels Sahara chief Subrata Roy's parole

Sep 23 (Agencies): The Supreme Court on Friday cancelled Sahara chief Subrata Roy's parole and ordered that he be sent back to jail. Roy was out on parole, granted to him in May on humanitarian grounds after his mother passed away.

Sahara chief's lawyer sought an extension of the parole granted to Mr Roy which the top court refused.

The apex court on September 2 had asked the Sahara Group to come clean by disclosing its sources from where it had raised Rs 25,000 crore and paid its investors in cash, observing that it is "difficult to digest" as such a huge amount "cannot fall from the heavens."

Roy spent two years in Tihar jail since March 4, 2014 on the orders of the apex court in relation to a long running dispute with market regulator SEBI.

Judicial activism can eradicate corruption in the country. Such moves send a loud and strong message to the high and mighty. At the same time black sheep amongst the judiciary (like one of the former lok ayukta of karnataka) should also be punished if found guilty. Accountability for Rs25000 crores cash paid by Subrata Roy and NPA of over Rs.1.7 lakh crores by banks should be disclosed to the nation.

Now a days judiciary seems to go out of context or into the nitty gtritties only IT or DRI need to.
They asked him to repay his investors, now that he has done it they have to grant him Bail.
If he hasn't fulfilled their direction by just showing records to prove he has paid them but not in reality, then only they need to take actions like these.
