Sullia: Rider Killed, Pillion Rider Survives in Bike Accident

Sullia, Dec 15: A bike rider was killed and the pillion rider badly injured, when the bike in which they were riding was involved in an accident near Markanja here on Friday December 14, sources informed.
 
The accident happened when the speeding biker lost control over his vehicle, which then went spinning off and fell into a nearby pit, with the rider and co-passenger both thrown off. The impact resulted in the rider receiving fatal head injuries and the other being seriously injured, sources added.  
 
The deceased has been identified as Kushalappa Mudnuru (38), a resident of Talur of Devachalla village. He met with accident while on his way home via Markanja, after witnessing a cockfight held at Kallugundi near Sullia.
 
While Kushalappa died instantly on the spot, the pillion rider identified as Ananda was lucky enough to survive, but with severe injuries and he has been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
