Mangalore, Dec 12: RMZ Corp, one of Bangalore's prime real estate developers has extensive plans to develop hotel properties in different states primarily  Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune. It is looking at either having a solo, or joint or a mixed use and combination of hotel cum office space concepts for these properties. In this context, the Company will be signing a management contract next month with an international chain for these properties.
 
However, the Company at this premature stage did not want to reveal the name of the international chain. RMZ Crop, has however, announced massive plans to develop 60 million sq. ft. spread across office space, retail, residential and hospitality projects in the next five years. Of this 2.1 million sq. ft. will be set aside for the hospitality sector, 12.7 million sq. ft. for retail sector and 20 million sq. ft. for the residential sector.

According to Sonali Lalwani, head of marketing, RMZ Corp the company wants to have its presence in locations such as Mangalore, Mysore, Nagpur, Kochi and Coimbatore. Their target in the first phase will be the tier-I cities, while in the second phase tier II cities like Mangalore city will be the focus on development.

Further according to Lalwani, the company is also planning to expand its F&B business by opening four more outlets of 'The Bay.' It launched this concept in August 2007 for the clients and their employees who have taken space in office complexes set up by RMZ Corp. A food court, speciality restaurants, fine dining restaurants, bookstore, convenience store, coffee bar, ATM facility and a moneychanger are some of the key features of 'The Bay.' It has tied up with McDonalds, Subway, Dominos Pizza, Beijing Bites, Hog Dog and Corn Delights. It also houses various juice and food kiosks at the food court.

The requirements of nearly 70,000 employees of multi-nationals such as CNBC, Capgemini, Citigroup, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Convergys, Agilent Technologies and Deloitte, are handled by `The Bay,' Presently it has three outlets at RMZ Infinity and RMZ Ecospace in Bangalore and at RMZ Ecospace in Kolkata. In fact Bay records a footfall of 5,500 to 7,000 a day during the weekdays and 3,500 to 5,000 during the weekends, was the information provided by Lalwani. RMZ Corp follows the build-own-manage model for all these F&B outlets as these are located at their own office complexes.
