Mangalore Dec 10:  Vasanth Rao, a Udupi based artist’s painting exhibition known as ‘Varna Sakshi,’ under the aegis of Dhrithi foundation was held at the Prasad Art Gallery in the city from Friday December 7 to Sunday, December 9. 
 
Psychiatrist Dr Ravish Thunga and veteran artist Ganesh Somayaji were the chief guests on the occasion.

Vasanth Rao has on his own come forward voluntarily to conduct this exhibition, and the funds collected from the event would be used for the education of children through Dhrithi and Vidyaposhak institutions.  
 
Since 2006 Dhrithi Foundation jointly with Dharwad-based Vidyaposhak institution, have been helping the economically backward students, a sum of Rs 1,53,000 in cash and books worth Rs 8,000 have been given to a total of 85 students in 2006 and in 2007, Rs 3,68,500 has been provided to 204 students.

Recently speaking to press persons, Dhrithi Foundation secretary Dr Srinivas Kakkilaya informed that the said assistance has been given with the help of Prerana of Infosys group and donors in the city as well as abroad.  
 
The Foundation will organize a day-long personality development camp at Karnataka Bank Employees Organisation auditorium at Bejai Kapikad on December 30. The resource persons the camp will be Adduru Krishna Rao, Dr Vaijayanthi Bonanthaya, Vasanth Rao among others.

According to Dr. Kakkilaya students interested in receiving financial assistance for the year 2008-09 may send their applications to Dhrithi Foundation by January 15.
