Mangalore, Dec 7: Balaprathibha – 2007, a district-level cultural fest, will be organized by Raga Taranga at Town Hall here on Saturday December 8, said Devaraj K, president, Raga Taranga executive committee.

He was speaking at press conference here on Tuesday December 4.

He further said that Harikrishna Punaroor, former president, State Karnataka Sahitya Parishat will deliver the introductory address. A Raghavendra Rao, president, Srinivas Group of Educational Institutes will preside over the function, he added.

K Parashivaiah, additional commissioner, Income Tax will be the chief guest whereas J R Lobo, deputy project director, KUDCEMP will give away the prizes.

Ashni, student of St Agnes High School will be the president and Dhenuka, student of Canara Girls High School will be the vice-president.

Various cultural programmes will be organized on the occasion. Ashni will perform Bharatnatyam and sitar recital, while Dhenuka will present a flute recital and Carnatic classical vocal.
 
H Janardhan Hande and Malathi Dinraj, vice-presidents, Taranga Executive Committee, Jaya Rao,secretary and Santhosh Kamath, member were present at the press conference.
