Mangalore: Corp Bank Donates Rs 50,000 to Underprivileged

Mangalore, Dec 7: A total of Rs 50,000 each was donated, by the city-based Corporation Bank under the initiative of Corp Compassion, as part of corporate social responsibility activity to city-based social pressure groups like Seva Bharati and Abhaya Ashraya here on Thursday December 6.

‘Corp Compassion’, a feature-rich savings bank account was launched by the Corporation Bank for a two-month campaign period. The bank had proposed to donate Rs 10 to the underprivileged for every account opened by them between June 1 and July 31, a press release issued by A Mohan Rao, general manager, Corporation Bank stated.

The bank received a good response and it was able to attract 3.63 lac worth deposit under the said scheme. In keeping its promise to customers, the Bank had been finding charitable institutions country-wide for rendering financial assistance, the release added.

C R Kamath, ophthalmologist and director, Bank, handed over the amount to the institutions, the release informed.
