Mangalore, Dec 6: A team of Tamil Nadu police have arrested a Tamil newspaper journalist Sundaram at Bajpe airport on Wednesday evening.
The arrested is said to have been facing cheating charges.
The police team that was waiting at Bajpe airport picked him up as soon as Sundaram alighted from an Air Deccan flight, police sources said.
Confusion prevailed among the district police for some time they had no specific information on the operation. Certain eye witnesses at the airport called up the Bajpe police station and informed them that certain individual was “being kidnapped”. This made the police to sound quick alert in the region.
However, the police were soon able to block the vehicle under Mangalore Rural Police limits and understand that it was Krishnagiri police who had arrested the person. The arrested has been taken to Tamil Nadu on Wednesday itself, police said.
