Mangalore: Hotel Goldfinch Christmas Preparations Begin

Mangalore Dec 5: As Christmas and New Year Season is fast drawing closer, the preparations for the same have also begun in full earnest in the city, albeit in many different ways.    

Hotel Goldfinch, one of the leading budget hotels in the city, too on its part kicked started its plans for the celebration of events. It began with the preparation of rich, mouthwatering exotic Christmas plum cakes here on Tuesday the December 4 evening.   

The preparations for the gala events has began well in advance with the mixing of ‘Rum’ (alcohol) with varied condiments and spices which are used as ingredients for the plum cake during the Christmas season.   

Prakash Shetty, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) and Dr Vijaykumar, vice-president of Hotel Goldfinch were the chief guests on the occasion. The two chief guests along-with other guest invitees thoroughly enjoyed the moment and joined in the revelry by mixing rum into the dry fruits.    

Speaking to Daijiworld.com, Charles Varghese, general manager of Hotel Goldfinch giving details about the forthcoming events informed that the preparations for the grand Christmas and New Year starts about 3 weeks in advance and it takes about two weeks for the dry fruits and other spices soaked in rum to ferment before it can be used in plum cakes to add to its tanginess and deliciousness, he added. 

Moreover, several new programmes are being organized for Christmas season, especially to taste this delicious plum cake, he informed.
