Bantwal, Dec 4: The parishioners of St Thomas Apostle’s Church, Nirkan, Vogga, near here celebrated the ‘Parish Day’ on Sunday, November 25. It was celebrated meaningfully with the theme ‘All parishioners belong to one family’.  The Eucharistic Mass was offered by vicar general, Monsignor Fr Denis Moras Prabhu along with Fr Gilbert D’Souza, parish priest, who meaningfully conveyed the theme in lucid manner during his homily.   The stage programme held later on at the school auditorium was presided over by Monsignor.

Fr Dennis felicitated Valli Vogga, a native parishioner and Konkani litterateur, poet who is managing an enterprise in Mysore, by draping the shawl and presented with basket full of flowers and fruits.

The native parishioner, V P Lobo, a successful entrepreneur at Chennai, has been contributing for telephone connections especially for the convenience of native parishioners.  Accordingly, a telephone instrument was handed over to one poor family, at the same occasion.

Alphonse Fernandes and Christine Lobo compered the programme.
