Mangalore: Parisara Premi Samiti Urges Locals to Welcome MSEZ

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (KM/RD)

Mangalore, Nov 26: Jayashreekrishna Parisara Premi Samiti supports Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ), said Vishwanath Mada, president of Samiti, here at the press conference on Monday November 26.

The persons who have been opposing are hired environmentalists financed by the countries who do not want India to become a developed country, at the earliest. But, the support by the committee to MSEZ largely rests on the assurance of environmental safety and direct employment to the students of the region offered by MSEZ officials, he added.

According to him, Singapore was underdeveloped about 30 years ago.  However, today its economy is booming with industries and it is rated as one of the sound economies across the globe.  All the achievements have been made possible with the mega projects like SEZ. Hence, the interest of the nation lies in the materialization of the mega projects like MSEZ.

The committee stands for the interest of the region.  If it had been proved that the proposed MSEZ neglects the interest of the region, then the Samiti would have opposed with all the might. The committee has held talks with the concerned officials of MSEZ and confirmed that MSEZ, will adhere to all the environmental measures.

Felix D'Souza, vice-president, Rons Bantwal, honorary secretary and others were present on the occasion.

With the quality of politicians and government machinery we have at the moment don't dream and compare Singapore. It is a distant dream with the level of corruption and vested communal interests associated with politics having only motto of grabbing power and get wealty overnight. It could be possible only when religion and politics are seperated.

If SEZ'S are so wonderful as this parisra premi group wants us to believe then why are they exempt from any environmental regulation whatsoever. If they are so clean then what do they have to fear in environmental regulation. If you set up an factory anywhere in India you are regulated by environmental standards, but if you are within the SEZ zone then you are not!! This is India of the 21st century, obfuscation of the highest degree. This group sounds like SEZ premi than parisara premi as they claim to be. Atleast the people in Goa and Nandigram deserve kudos for standing up to these forces.

It is pathetic to hear "Jayashreekrishna Parisara Premi Samiti" blaming opposers of MSEZ. Dont ever compare Singapore and MSEZ. It highlights ur lack of knowledge. MSEZ is almost nothing but ONGC.
