Puttur: Furniture Shop Gutted at MT Road – Loss worth Several Lacs

Puttur, Nov 26: A furniture shop was gutted at M T Road here in the wee hours of Sunday November 25.

The devotees who had attended Lakshmi Venkatramana Temple annual festival noticed the incident.

According to the police, Dinesh Nayak of Mangalore owns the furniture shop. Furniture worth Rs 8 lac has been destroyed.

The fire brigade immediately tried to douse the fire. The firemen pumped water from a nearby well as the water in the two fire brigades was not sufficient to douse the fire.

The building in which the shop was situated too has been damaged completely. The main reason for this mishap is short circuit, said some locals.
