Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (KD/NR)

Puttur, Nov 24: In connection with the murder of an old woman and robbery, the culprits’ a husband and wife duo have been arrested in Mumbai by the Puttur Circle inspector C R Ravish and S I Maruthi Ganapathi Nayak of Uppinagadi.

Nearly a month ago a murder had taken place; and the police were trying to trace the culprits but it was very difficult as they had no photographs and proper address in order to nab the culprits. The only lead they had was that Girish hailed from Shimoga but later on enquiry it came to light that he was in-fact Ganesh Poojary and his wife’s name was  Parvathi, both hailing from Byndoor.

On becoming alert that police were on their trail, the alleged culprits fled the city to Mumbai but that did not deter the city police who even without proper information, with merely some bits and pieces of information obtained from a friend of the alleged accused Ganesh Poojary, they succeeded in tracing the culprits. It was the friend who revealed that they had kept some gold in finance company for regular income and then they had fled to Mumbai.

Armed with the information that Ganesh Poojary had a brother in Mumbai, the police landed Mumbai. It was then a little easy from then onwards for the police to trace the culprit.

Puttur ASP Dr P S Harsha had gone to Mumbai in relation with this case and is expected to return back with the culprits soon.
