Mangalore: Two Tulu Plays to be Staged in Mumbai from Dec 1

Mangalore, November 23: Vijaya Kalaavidara Nataka Samsthe will stage plays namely ‘Bairas Baskare’ of Harish Padubidri and ‘Marl Kattodchi’ of Rajesh Kanchankere at Pune and Mumbai from December 1 to December 17, said Sharath Shetty, president of the troupe at the press conference here on Friday November 23.
 
Chetan Rai, Puttur, Sitaram Shetty, Rajesh Kanchanakere, Pushparaj Shetty, Chandrahasa Shetty Mani, Raghuram Shetty, Beltangady, Umesh Mijaru and others will be in lead roles. Shrinath Moodbidri will be the music director and Chandrakanth Moodbidri will be the play back singer. Suvarna Katipalla and Ashok Palli are the lyricists he added.
 
The play ‘Bairas Baskare’ is a focus on the life of protagonist Baskara. The play mainly gives a message to the society and ‘Marl Kattiodchi’ will focus upon family, he added.
 
Prakash Shetty Suratkal is the convener, Aikala Harish Shetty, Vishwanatha Shetty, Anil Shetty and Bhuvanabi Rama Udupa are the torch bearers for the troupe in its tour to Mumbai, he said.
 
Lakshman BB, secretary, K Bhuvanabirama Udupa, honorary secretary, Rajesh Kenchanakeare and Jagadish Kancahanakere were present at the press conference.
