VHP demands dismissal of Kashmir government

New Delhi, Jul 12 (IANS): The VHP, holding that the BJP's experiment to ally with PDP in Jammu and Kashmir has failed, on Monday sought dismissal of Mehbooba Mufti government in view of recent protests after Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani was killed.

"BJP's experiment of forming a government with PDP headed by Mehbooba Mufti has totally failed. That is why her government should be dismissed immediately and President's Rule (sic) be imposed," senior Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Surendra Jain told reporters here.

Alleging attacks on Amarnath pilgrims, he said it was "unacceptable" and added that targeting Hindus will have "serious repercussions".

He also lashed out at those going "soft" or "glorifying" terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, and flayed JNU student Umar Khalid for comparing Wani to a revolutionary.
