Three Israeli trekkers rescued in Ladakh region


Srinagar, July 2 (IANS): Three trekkers from Israel were rescued on Saturday by the administration in Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir after the lack of oxygen incapacitated them.

"Three foreign trekkers were stranded in Sku-Markha area due to lack of oxygen that caused high altitude sickness," an official of the district administration told IANS on phone from Leh town.

"Rescue teams were rushed and after being rescued the stranded trekkers were admitted to a hospital in Leh for stabilization," the official said.

Leh is part of Ladakh region of the state.
