  • The two actors love to spend time with the kids at this Bandra orphanage

Mumbai, Nov 14: Here’s something Salman Khan and Abhishek Bachchan have in common. While we were trying to figure out what the usually benevolent Salman would be doing for Children’s Day, we stumbled upon the fact that both Salman and Abhishek religiously visit the same orphanage in Bandra.  In fact, Salman has promised the kids to be back today.

Located on Chapel road in Bandra West, children from the Commmited Communities Development Trust have been Salman’s favourites since the past one year. And though not as regularly, it seems Abhishek makes it a point to spend time with them as well.

Says director of the trust, Sara Lizza D’Mello, “When they come here, they are not stars, but common people like me and you. Salman visits the home very frequently, but he doesn’t meet the kids as a celebrity. Sallu plays and jokes with them. You would really get to see his humane side then.”

Salman first visited the home more than a year back with Miss Universe Zuleyka Rivera. Interestingly, unlike many others, it seems Salman does not really bring gifts for the kids, but makes sure he entertains them by making them dance on film songs.

“He is a great dancer, but when he comes here he makes the kids dance on all his latest film numbers. There is a lot of joy and excitement the kids share with him. In fact some of them have grown really close to him and look forward to his visits. Many-a-times when the kids force him to dance, he says, ‘I’m too tired’ and sits in a corner watching them enjoy.”

And what about Abhishek? “The kids love Abhishek too. Actually there might be a lot spoken about them in the media, but both of them stay away from publicising their visits here.”
