Hyderabad, June 26 (IANS): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday began a five-day visit to China to attract investments and also to attend a meeting hosted by the World Economic Forum.

Naidu will also invite Chinese companies to participate in the development of Amaravati, the new state capital being built near Vijayawada.

An agreement for sister state relations with Guizhou province is expected to be signed during the visit.

A 13-member delegation led by Naidu left for Hong Kong from New Delhi in the early hours of Sunday. It will land in Tianjin, where Naidu will hold series of one to one meetings with chief executive officers of various multinationals in sectors like food manufacturing, shipping, aviation, hospitality, energy, data technology and aquaculture.

Naidu will also hold one to one talk with Sarita Nayyar, Managing Director, World Economic Forum.

The next day, the chief minister will hold series of meetings with heads of companies in chemical manufacturing, online rental services, pharmaceuticals, airway carrier, electronics, and renewable energy.

The state government's advisor (communications) Parakala Prabhakar told reporters in Hyderabad that the same day Naidu will attend conferences on aCities by design, not command' and 'Shaping a food systems agenda'.

On June 28, Naidu will travel to Guiyang, the capital of the Guizhou province where he will visit Guiyang Urban Planning Exhibition Museum and Guiyang International Eco-conference Centre.

An agreement of sister state relationship between Guizhou and Andhra Pradesh is expected to be signed.

On the final day of the tour, Naidu will be attending a road show for the promotion of investment in Andhra Pradesh.

Prabhakar said Naidu would follow up on the meetings he held with CEOs of Chinese firms during his visit to China last April.

He said the state attracted an investment of Rs 5,000 crore as a result of the previous visit.

Phone-maker Foxconn and Chinese low-cost smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi have set up their manufacturing units in the state.

Guizhou Maritime Silk Road International Investment Corporation (GICC), has agreed to build 'City Square' in Vijayawada.

Chengdu, the provincial capital of Sichuan province has also evinced interest in partnering with Andhra in manufacturing, IT sector and agriculture.
