Foundation stone for ROB in Ghaziabad laid


Ghaziabad, June 24 (IANS): The foundation stone of the much-awaited railway over bridge (ROB) at Dhobi Ghat here has been jointly laid by Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha and Minister of State for External Affairs V.K. Singh, an official said on Friday.

The ROB would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 79.16 crore, to be shared equally by the Railways and Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA), an official release said.

Highlighting the importance of the ROB, V.K. Singh, who is also the local MP, said on the occasion that "the long standing demand of Ghaziabad residents has been fulfilled by Manoj Sinha's efforts". 

The construction is expected to be completed within two years, the release said.
