Himachal may get heavy rainfall


Shimla, June 19 (IANS): The hills of Himachal Pradesh may see heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours, a weather official said here on Sunday.

"There are chances of heavy rainfall in some parts of the state between June 20 and 21," an official of the local meteorological office told IANS.

He said most of the prominent tourist towns like Shimla, Narkanda, Kufri, Kalpa, Kasauli, Chamba, Dharamsala, Palampur and Manali might saw good spells of rain.

Meanwhile, Shimla recorded a high of 23.3 degrees, whereas the minimum was 16.9 degrees.

Kalpa in Kinnaur district saw the maximum temperature at 25 degrees, while it was 29.8 degrees in Dharamsala, 32.9 degrees in Sundernagar.

Una was hottest in the state at 37 degrees Celsius.
