Five militants killed in Pakistan


Islamabad, Jun 14 (IANS): At least five militants were killed during a search operation in Quetta city in Pakistan on Tuesday morning, a provincial minister said.

Police launched the operation on a tip-off over the presence of suspected militants in Quetta, the capital city of Balochistan, provincial Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti as saying.

The militants opened fire when the police raided their hideout. The police retaliated and all five militants were killed in the operation.

The militants, associated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, were involved in target killing of policemen and security forces in the province, the minister said.
