Mumbai, June 8 (IANS): Key Indian equity market indices were trading in green during the afternoon session on Wednesday.

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the BSE was trading 37.75 points or 0.14 percent higher during the afternoon session.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 6.05 points or 0.07 percent higher at 8,272.50 points.

The BSE Sensex, which opened at 27,085.24 points, was trading at 27,047.42 points (at 01.43 p.m.) in the afternoon session -- 37.75 points or 0.14 percent higher from the previous day's close at 27,009.67 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 27,105.41 points and a low of 26,997.42 points in the trade so far.

Good buying was observed in capital goods, telecom and power sectors, while selling pressure was seen in IT sector.

The S&P BSE capital goods index surged by 1.83 percent, telecom index got augmented by 1.38 percent and power index moved up by 1.26 percent. However, IT index dropped by 0.43 percent.
