Modi leaves on five-nation tour

New Delhi, Jun 4 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday left for a five-nation tour that will take him to Afghanistan, Qatar, Switzerland, the US and Mexico.

"PM Narendra Modi leaving for Herat, Afghanistan, marking the start of his five-nation visit," the Prime Minister's Office tweeted.

Modi will stop over in Herat in Afghanistan where he, along with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, will jointly inaugurate the India-Afghan Friendship Dam, earlier known as Salma Dam, rebuilt with India's aid.

After attending a lunch hosted in his honour by President Ghani, Modi will proceed to Doha, Qatar, where he will meet Qatari Prime Minister Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al Thani on Saturday.

He will also visit an Indian workers' camp in Doha on Saturday.

On Sunday, he will meet Emir of Qatar Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.

Following his engagements in Qatar, he will leave for Switzerland on Sunday.

On June 6, Modi will hold a meeting with President of the Swiss Confederation Johann Schneider-Ammann and also interact with business leaders.

The same day, he will depart for Washington where he will meet US President Barack Obama and address a joint sitting of the US Congress.

On June 8, he will leave for Mexico City where he will meet Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto before returning to India.

Narendra Modi and his government have had quite a fascination for the black money that leaves the country. Black money is essentially money that has been earned, but on which a tax has not been paid.

During the electoral campaign for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Modi promised that all the black money that had left Indian shores would be recovered and Rs 15 lakh deposited in the bank accounts of every Indian. Later Amit Shah, the president of the BJP, dismissed this as a chunavi jumla.

Recover black money from India first, instead of making noises about what lies in Swiss banks said by PM Modi earlier.
Will his golden words going to realised with his first ever Switzerland return journey bring back 'black money' or just remain 'Jumbla'?

If people( specially congress lovers) have the right to criticize, Modi as PM of the country has the right to make necessary decision for improving the business ties/relationship etc.

Holding such a high office, he knows what action to be taken, prioritization of the work much better than us.

People can criticize, but it is immature/foolishness to criticize on irrelevant matters.

part of escapism strategy. While at home he's answerable to so many queries, mainly the ones pertaining to failure to fulfill poll promises. And Nakshatrikas like AK, always behind him questioning authenticity of qualifications etc. While abroad he can ear well and sleep well without having to worry about these things.
He's still more of a party worker than a PM. Somehow he manages to participate in all state election campaigns, needless to say despite so many rallies, he's managed to only just one state(UP) out of seven since he became PM. His supporters quote increase in vote share as a face saver.

Yet another foreign holiday by most travelled PM. Every time Modi goes abroad, BJP makes bif announcements on his achievements and deals. But we have not seen any yet. When he went to France it was announced that he bought 60 Raphael fighters off the shelf which were supposed to be delivered straight away but none has arrived yet. He is making good for lat 12 years when many western countries did not give him a VISA to visit them. May be he have chai pe churcha with Mallya in London.
