When Modi was buying Rafales, Parrikar was buying fish in Goa: Digvijaya

Panaji, June 3 (IANS) : When Prime Minister Narendra Modi was striking the Rafale fighter plane deal in France, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar was in Goa buying fish, Congress General Secretary Digvijaya Singh said on Friday, criticising Parrikar for ignoring his sensitive central ministry brief.

"He is not involved in any of the defence deals. I told you earlier that when Rafale aircraft were being bought by the Prime Minister in France, he was buying fish in Goa. This is what Mr. Parrikar's status as a Defence Minister is today," Singh said, addressing a press conference in Panaji.

"The Congress party has been saying so from day one. Parrikar is hardly a Defence Minister. He is a super Chief Minister of Goa," Singh said.

    Then Goa Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders like Manohar Parrikar have expressed support for the Sanatan Sanstha, the Hindu outfit blamed for the pre-Diwali blasts that killed two people.
    Virendra Marathe, managing trustee of the Sanstha, named BJP state president Shripad Naik, leader of opposition Parrikar and party legislator Dayanand Mandrekar as politicians who stood by them in the aftermath of the blasts in Margao, 35 km from here.

    He should buy more Andhra ki mirchi to make traditional Goan fish curry who let go Sanatan Sanstha accused in Margo blast.

    Two months back Parrikar himself had announced in Lokasabha that Seven Army officers have been caught for espionage and for passing on secret defense information to Pak, and they will be punished according to Law. But their names were not disclosed by Parrikar. But thereafter we do not know what happened to those seven Army officers. Are those officers after dismissal selling fish in Goa now ?

    It was recently reported in Goan news that most official files and documents directly bypass Parsekar and go to Delhi for Parikkar's review.

    Parrikar as a defence minister is a failure and has shown no interest in his role as a defence minister.
