Gunfight starts in Kashmir


Srinagar, May 27 (IANS): A gunfight started on Friday between security forces and militants in Kashmir's Baramulla district, police said.

"Security forces surrounded Kotchipora village in Tangmarg area late Thursday night following information that two militants were hiding in the village," a senior police official told IANS.

"As the security forces closed in on a house on Friday morning where the militants were hiding, they came under heavy gunfire which is going on," the official added.
