India successfully launches its own 'space shuttle'

Chennai, May 23 (PTI/Agencies) : India today successfully launched the first technology demonstrator of indigenously made Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV), capable of launching satellites into orbit around earth and then re-enter the atmosphere, from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.

"Mission accomplished successfully,"an Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) spokesman told PTI soon after RLV-TD HEX-01 was flight tested with the take off at 7 am.

This is the first time ISRO has launched a winged flight vehicle, which glided back onto a virtual runway in the Bay of Bengal, some 500 kilometres from the coast.
Known as hypersonic flight experiment, it was about 10 minutes mission from liftoff to splashdown.

The RLV-TD is a scaled-down model of the reusable launch vehicle.
RLV, being dubbed as India's own space shuttle, is the unanimous solution to achieve low cost, reliable and on-demand space access, according to ISRO scientists.

RLV-TD is a series of technology demonstration missions that have been considered as a first step towards realising a Two Stage To Orbit (TSTO) fully re-usable vehicle, ISRO said.

It has been configured to act as a flying testbed to evaluate various technologies, including hypersonic flight, autonomous landing, powered cruise flight and hypersonic flight using air-breathing propulsion, it said.

The 6.5 metre long 'aeroplane'-like structure weighing 1.75 tons was hoisted into the atmosphere on a special rocket booster.

The RLV-TD is described as "a very preliminary step" in the development of a reusable rocket, whose final version is expected to take in 10 to 15 years.

BUT kaka-MODI will say "mitron jab mei gujrat mei assam tea supply kartha tha,i saw crow doing #2 in my cup.that gave me idea of reusable flying object.& after becoming PM i gave technical inputs to ISRO,due to which they were able to do this...blah..bla...", & as usual after hearing this bhakts will've multiple orgasm.
HOWEVER real story is ISRO established by CONGRESS govt decades ago & consistently given high priority by CONGRESS.

    Congratulations ISRO.

hahaha... so pathetic... Bhakths giving credit to FEKU for this!

Within 24 months of FEKU rule, the 'space shuttle' planned, got approved, unit manufactured and launched??

Bhakthooooonn... this is not China made, battery operated toy car...!

What a joke yaar... even, when INS Vikramaditya inaugurated just next month of FEKU becoming PM, Bhakths were posting on FB, 'What a great achievement of MODI'!! They were also gaving credit to FEKU for 'Mumbai metro' inauguration, which took place, in few months of FEKU rule!!

By the way, few Bhakths are not that dumb!
There are some extra-smart too... they give credit to 'Atal Bihari Vajapayee' to avoid getting caught red handedly for spreading false information!

Wah Bhaktooooon... tum logon ka jawaab nahin!!!

jeevan, sorry NAGESH, You proved to be a tremendous blind bakht!. If you are capable if searching history then please check when approval was given and who released funds!. Any space project cannot be done in 2 years!. It requires a minimum of 3-5 years from approval to launch!. Whatever you are seeing now and upto another 1 year were approved and funded by the UPA government!. Your governments projects may fly only from 2018!!!. Again calculate who all ruled during 60 years (you are very clever to leave 7 years!!!)

Oil price low is one of the cause for global economic slow down . In India the processing price and then cost of marketing distribution itself is quite high and it is all decided by Oil companies like Indian oil and what govt can make up is by way of tax collection which ultimately helps in making up for the Govts fiscal deficit .In India the Govt budget is just 19 to 20 % of the Overall economy whereas about 80% of the economy is played by the Private industries and General public in which area Modi Govt has played a invigorating and boosting effect which has lead to growing of the Indian Economy whether you give credit to Modi Govt or not Indian economy growing at 7.5% is a fact admitted by IMF itself .It is obvious that Modi Govt has contributed immensely

    Dear Mohan, Mangalore,

Oil prices are oscillating in-between 43 TO 49 per barrel of crude oil.

YET THE PETROL PRICES IN INDIA ARE VERY HIGH COMPARED TO OTHER NATIONS. WHEN CRUDE OIL PRICES WERE $140 PETROL PRICES DURING UPA RULE WAS NOT MORE THAN RS.80/=

NOW LET THE BHAKTS AND SOME LITERATES WHO ARE COMMENTING LET THEM COMPARE AND WRITE CORRECTLY RATHER THAN APPRECIATING THE COW GOVERNMENT RATHER THAN WRITING BLAH, BLAH, BLAH....

HAS HE NOT ADOPTED ALL THE POLICES WITHOUT CONGRESS AADHAAR WHAT IS THIS GOVERNMENT???!!!
