60-year-old woman stripped, tortured after son 'runs away' with girl

Lakhimpur Kheri (UP), Apr 26 (PTI): A 60-year-old woman was stripped and tortured in a village in Uttar Pradesh on Monday after her son allegedly eloped with a girl, police said.

The woman's face was blackened and chilli powder was thrown on her private parts as "punishment", they said.

The woman was rescued and the police were called when her husband ran to villagers for help. She is in a critical condition.

Senior police officer Akhilesh Chaurasia said the woman was attacked by the family members of the girl with whom her son had allegedly run away on Sunday.

Both the families belong to the same village.

Chaurasia said a police complaint has been filed against five people, including four women, who are missing.

    Modi won't dare touch UP to install President rule.
    Too much at stake. With defeats here and there and even zilla\Panchayat levels BJP's mandate has become very shaky. As such they have started their old tricks in UP. Divisive policy\hate mongering between Hindu\muslims. They are doing it openly for by-election.
    Hope people are wiser and see through BJP's intentions are fake about religion and their divisive policies and understand both are not at all good for them if BJP comes to power.
    BJP's cunningness will boom-e-rang and affect their chances very badly.

    In UP – Bihar, where only muscle power rules, similar incidents involving crimes against Dalits and backward communities had gone unpunished in the past. And this is the result. Police exist only for namesake, who are actually slaves of the upper class. The more such crimes are ignored, the more they are bound to happen.

    Once caught they should be treated with:-
    1. Chilli powder - spray
    2. Chilli paste - body lotion
    3. chilli with vinegar- hot& sour drink

    FEKU Maharaja don't have Guts to impose President Rule in UP,the most unruly state of India. Middle class & poor have no value at all. Don't know what engineering the "Poppat Nose Akhilesh" has studied in Australia.

    Majority of Indians are civilized. We hear these things once in a while. The ratio of these type of incidences including moral policing in Mangalore to our population is very low.
