Free Legal Advice, Awareness, Help Camp Held

Oct 11: A free camp on legal advice, awareness and help was held under the aegis of the taluk legal advice committee of Kundapur bar association in association with the Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala rural development project, in Janatha High School, Hemmady near here recently.

Inaugurating the camp Shivanna, civil magistrate, senior division of Kundapur spoke on the need for legal knowledge about women’s right for property and the property right derived from will.

Mohammed Ashraf Aris, chief magistrate, junior division of judiciary in his address enlightened the audience on the free legal aid for the common man through the legal service authority.

Advocate Ragavendra Charan Navada spoke on women and the law. Mahabala K, another advocate spoke on the existing legal system for the benefits of scheduled castes.

The workers of the rural development project compered the function.


Outgoing Officials of Hebri Panchayat Honoured

Oct 11: The outgoing president Neere Krishna Shetty, vice-president Jayanthi R Shetty and secretary H Boja Poojary of Hebri Panchayat were felicitated by the ex-MLA H Gopal Bhandary recently.

They were felicitated for their successful team work in making the Hebri panchayat, a model panchayat. Hebri panchayat is considered to be the best among the panchayats of Udupi district.

Sunanda S Kumar, ZP member, M Chandra Shaker Hegde, taluk panchayat member, Jayakar Poojary, newly-elected president of Hebri panchayat, Suresh Shetty, vice-president, H Prasanna Ballal, ex-president of zilla panchayat, Narasimha Nayak, senior leader of cooperative movement, H Radhakrishna Nayak and taluk panchayat executive officer Rajendra Bekal were present on the occasion.
