Bantwal, Oct 9: Communist Party of India (CPI) staged protest against the Congress-led union government for hike in the prices of essential commodities, at B C Road junction on Tuesday, October 9.

Speaking on this occasion, P Sanjeeva, Dakshina Kannada (DK) district secretary of CPI, said that the Congress party has been ruling thecountry since 3 three years. But, it has failed to understand the needs of common people.

The prices of the essential commodities have been shooting skywards day-by-day. On the other hand, the union government has failed to assure proper supply of cooking gas too, he alleged.

CPI state committee member B Vishwanath Nayak, CPI taluk secretary B Shekar and others were present on this occasion.

Earlier, a rally was held from CPI office to Bantwal taluk panchayat office.
