Mumbai, Oct 11: Many people would find it hard to believe that these words came from actor Akshay Kumar .

Akshay is often blamed for chopping other people’s roles in the films starring him. The actor has often reacted to such accusations with his characteristic humour. Once he said that if this allegation is true then he should be paid extra money for doing the editor’s job.

Now, Akshay has thrown a surprise by asking director Priyadarshan to chop off his role in this Friday’s release Bhool Bhulaiyaa .

It happened that Akki and the film’s producer Bhushan Kumar recently saw the final cut of the film. The movie’s running time extended close to three hours, and both Akshay and Bhushan agreed that the film’s length needed to be shortened.

Thereafter, the two spoke with director Priyadarshan. Akshay told Priyan to chop his role if need be to cut the movie short.

Now, a few scenes of Akshay and a song featuring Amisha Patel has been edited out. The movie’s length is now under two-and-a-half hours.

‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ has Akshay playing a psychologist who tries to solve a strange mystery that haunts a haveli in which his friend lives. The movie has Vidya Balan and Shiney Ahuja playing a married couple.
