Mangalore, Oct 11: The diamond jubilee celebration of Sharadotsav at Ullal will held this year, said Pashupati Ullal,    member of Sarvajanika Navaratri and diamond jubilee celebration of Sharadotsav Samiti, Ullal, at a press conference here on Wednesday October 10.

The inaugural ceremony of the celebration will be held on Friday October 12. The programme will be inaugurated by Veerappa Ambar, district RSS leader, graced by Sri Vidyaprasannateertha Swamiji of Kukke Subramanya Math.  It will be presided over by Santhosh Kumar Shetty Boliyar, vice-president, BJP Vittal constituency, informed Ravindra Maroli, Samiti president.

A religious discourse will be delivered by Dr Vagishwary Shivaram, teacher, Canara High School, on Saturday October 13.  Prof M B Puranik of RSS will deliver a religious discourse on Monday October 15, he informed.

The prizes to winners of various events will be distributed on Tuesday October 16.  Vijay Kumar Bhandikottya Ullal will preside over the prize distribution ceremony and Vittal Suvarna, managing trustee, Sri Vyagra Chamundeshwari temple, will be the chief guest.

The consecration of Sharada Devi idol will be held on Wednesday October 17.  The dining facility at Sharada Niketan will be inaugurated at the same occasion. Puja of Nava Chandika Havana and free food offerings will be held on Friday October 19.  Hari Katha will be held by Badragiri Achyutdas, will be held in the same day.

The valedictory will be held on Saturday October 20. Madhav Bhandary will preside over the function, Prof Amrut Someshwar and Pradeep Kalkura will be the chief guests for the programme. The souvenir ‘Sri Vagdevi’ of Erya Lakshmi Narayana Alva will be released on the same occasion. 

Along with this 27 persons, who have made their mark with significant achievements in various spheres, will be felicitated. Sports and cultural programmes will be held for students and public alike, on Saturday October 21.
