Mangalore, Oct 2: ‘Senior Citizens' Day’ was observed at Karnad Sadashiv Rao Memorial Trust Hall, Light House Hill', on Tuesday October 2 under the jointl auspices of Mahatma Gandhi Peace Foundation, Karnad Sadashiv Rao Memorial Trust, Ladies Social Service League, Probus Club and Ashraya.

Dr Prabha Adhikari, director or Ashraya was the guest of honour.  Maheshwar Rao, deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district presided over the programme. 

Prof K M Kaveriappa, vice-chancellor of Mangalore University released book of ‘Mahatma Gandhi’s Precious Pearls’.  Maheshwar Rao wife distributed the prizes.  Brinda Kaveriappa, head of department of English, University College, distributed the released books.  

F M Lobo and group conducted the musical concert on the occasion.
