Mangalore, Oct 2: The Rotract Club in the city took out a rally for peace to mark Gandhi Jayanthi on Tuesday October 2.
M Maheshwar Rao, deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district flagged off the rally at PVS Circle.
Dr Devadas Rai was also present on this occasion. The rally wound up in front of the Gandhi statue located near the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) building.
Bharath Seva Dal celebrations:
At the same time, Bharath Seva Dal took out a rally from Dr Ambedkar Circle near Jyothi to the Town Hall. Later DC M Maheshwar Rao garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, located in front of the Town Hall.
Karnataka Bank chairman Anantakrishna, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, Kudpi Jagadish Shenoy and others were present on this occasion.
