Mangalore, Oct 2: ‘World Elders’ Day’ was observed by Vishwas Trsut at Valencia in the city, on Monday October 1.  

Fr Reginald, while delivering the key note address on ‘World Elders’ Day’ said that it was observed across the world, to enliven the spirit of life among the senior citizens.  The elders serve as the resources for the new generation.  He urged the elders present there to be energetic, dedicated and enthusiastic to take care as long as they can, besides sharing the bond with fellow elders.

Regi, MSW student of Roshni Nilaya, welcomed all the elderly and Derrik rendered the prayers. More than 55 senior citizens participated in the celebrations. Every elder was introduced to the gathering on the occasion.

Various amusement games were held to entertain the elders. The programme concluded with the talk on ‘The Rights of Elderly’ by Dr Ramachandra Bhat. A later a family agape sponsored by Dr Prakash Saldanha and family was served to all.
