Mangalore, Oct 1: Gandhi Jayanthi was observed by the Catholic Sabha at Kulashekara, Mangalore in association with St Joseph School, Kankanady in St Alphonsa Church Auditorium here on Monday, October 1.
The programme was inaugurated by Lawrence D'Souza, dean of Mangalore City deanery. Sucharita Shetty, president of DK Zilla Panchayat presided over the function.
A lecture was delivered on the occasion by Amrutha Someshwara, a renowned writer and art critic.
Sr Monika Rebello was the chief guest. Octavia Albuquerque, a former MLC, was felicitated on the occasion.
Alban Pinto, secretary and Sushil Noronha, president of Catholic Sabha were also present on the occasion.
