Udupi, Sep 24: After a discussion on alleged irregularities in the Kadur Gram Panchayat, Zilla Panchayat at a special general body meeting decided to make a recommendation to the state government to dissolve the said GP here recently. 

B N Shankar Poojary, president of the Zilla Panchayat (ZP) stated that the decision to seek an explanation from the Kadur Panchayat had been taken during the last general body meeting of the ZP, on September 13. Accordingly Poojary said that a clarification was sought from the Kadur Gram Panchayat president, but the ZP was not entirely convinced with the clarification on alleged irregularities and therefore recommended the dissolution of Kadur Gram Panchayat. 

B K Hegde ZP member informed that irregularities within the Gram Panchayat were being discussed for nearly a year now. But there was no solution found till now, other then to dismiss the said Gram Panchayat. 

K Jayaprakash Hegde, MLA from Brahmavar said the Kadur Gram Panchayat is being punished for lapses on part of its secretary, so instead of dismissing the Panchayat, they should initiate action against the alleged officials responsible for the irregularities.
