Mangalore, Sep 24: Students should have a specific goal in life. And teachers should become role models for the society, declared Narendra L Nayak, president of the Expert Educational and Charitable Foundation, after inaugurating the college union of Kateel temple First Grade College for the year 200-08 here recently.

According to him, there is a dire need for the overall development of the students for achieving excellence.

On the occasion, PhD degree holder lecturers Dr Krishna Kanchan and Dr Ganapati Bhat too were felicitated. S Krishnamurti, managing trustee of the temple, presided over the function. Priest of the temple Ananta Padmanabha Asranna blessed the Union.

Nitin, president of the students union, vice-president Mohandas, secretary Hemalata, lecturer secretary Vijay V and Suresh were also present on the dais.

Sunita Rajeshwari offered prayer. Principal Balakrishna Shetty welcomed the gathering. Vijay Mahantesh proposed the vote of thanks, whereas Poornima compered the programme.
