Mangalore, Sep 24: The mine-owners' decision will be the ultimate in the matter the transfer of power, quipped Administrative Reforms Commission chairman M Veerappa Moily, after inaugurating the Congress election office in the city on Sunday September 23.

Addressing party members, Moily elaborated the matter and said that the future of coalition government lay in the hands of Bellary district mine-owners, and hence mine-owners' decision would be decisive on the transfer of power.

According to him, the BJP and JD(S) came to power with the aid of the mines' lobby and the state government had since failed to protect the interests of thousands of labours who were dependent on KIOCL, by not allowing mining in the region.  However, he said permission has been given to illegal mining in the Bellary district.

The District Congress committee president Ramanath Rai and others were present on the occasion.
