City:

M Shriyala Hegde of JD (S) representing Padumarnadu constituency has been elected president of Mangalore taluk panchayat on Saturday, September 22, while for the post of the vice-president, Suresh Shetty of the BJP representing Ekkar constituency has been elected.

Assistant commissioner Samir Shukla was the officer-in-charge for this election. Shriyala Hegde’s term as president will last 10 months.

Karkala:

Sundar B of Nallur has been elected president of Karkala taluk panchayat on Saturday, September 23. The post was reserved for the scheduled castes this time.

Subhash Kamath of Pulkeri has been elected vice president.

Sullia:

Shanker Peraje of BJP and Pushpavati have been elected president and vice-president respectively of Sullia Taluk Panchayat respectively.

Puttur assistant commissioner Vasant Kumar was the officer-in-charge for this election.
