Mangalore, Sep 21: As the count down has begun for the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) election, candidates have begun pleasing the voters in different ways. Now it is the turn of Janardhan Poojary, former union finance minister who still a mass support to join Congress poll campaign.

Janardhan Poojary started door-to-door campaign on Thursday September 20 evening at Kudroli and Mannagudda. He offered puja at Sri Gokarnanatheshwar Temple, Kudroli before venturing into poll campaign.

He joined the party men in soliciting the votes on behalf of contestant, Gopalkrishna Achar, in Kudroli ward and Sandhya Rao in Mannagudda ward. He distributed jasmine flowers to women along the road and asked them to support Congress.

Ullal MLA U T Khader, former MLA Vijaykumar Shetty, Congress leaders Suresh Ballal, M G Hegde, Kallige Taranath Shetty and others were present on the occasion.

    The only work done till date by Poojary is using goverment money meant for minority institutions towards building  temples .I wish somebody checks on this.
