A state-level paper presentation competition namely 'Manasa Manthana-2007' was held here in the Eric Mathias Hall, on Thursday September 20.  The programme was organized by the Management Club of St Aloysius Institute of Business Administration (AIBA), St Aloysius College.


The theme of the competition was 'Business in digital era' with the focus of discussion being matters pertaining to digitalization in modern era, such as where we stand as of now, where we stood in the past and where we pursue to be in future in this digital era. 

According to the dean of AIBA P G Aquinas ‘Manasa Manthana-2007’ was a platform to express and explore views and thoughts of young students and future entrepreneurs of this technology driven society. 

Dr N K Thingalaya, retired chairman of Syndicate Bank in his inaugural address spoke of the importance of digitalization in various sectors of business with special reference to how this has changed over a period of time and how digitalization has brought out immense changes in all spheres of business. 



Fr Denzil Lobo in his director's message stated that he expects all the students to think beyond their imagination and not become complacent with what they have done. In fact they should try to do more than what has been done, as the inner meaning of Manasa Manthana means ' churning the minds.' 

Earlier celebrated economist and former chairman of Syndicate bank, N K Thingalaya inaugurated the competition.
 
Five papers from each specialized stream (finance, marketing, human resource) were presented and more than 200 delegates attended the event. Trophies, cash prizes and certificates were awarded for best paper in each stream of specialisation. An overall best paper trophy was also awarded to deserving candidate.

Fr Francis Serrao delivered the presidential address. Prof P G Aquinas dean of AIBA, Gabriel Fernandes, student coordinator, Santhosh Shanbhag staff coordinator, Rexon Noronha management secretary were present on the occasion.
