Jan Dhan has 21 cr accounts, mobilised Rs 32,000 cr deposits: Prez

New Delhi, Feb 23 (PTI): Terming the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) as "the world's most successful" financial inclusion programme, President Pranab Mukherjee today said Rs 32,000 crore worth of deposits have been mobilised from over 21 crore account holders under the scheme.

In his address to the joint sitting of Parliament, Mukherjee highlighted various social security schemes of the government and the steps taken by it to improve functioning of state-owned banks.

He also said the "concerted efforts" to tackle the menace of black money stashed abroad have started yielding results.

The government, the President said, has placed great emphasis on food security, Housing for All and subsidies so that they reach those who need them the most.

"My government has pledged to make this goal (removing poverty) possible through financial inclusion and social security, the two wings on which human aspiration takes flight," Mukherjee said.

He said PMJDY has gone beyond mere opening of bank accounts to becoming a platform for poverty eradication by offering basic financial services and security to the poor.

"Today, I am proud to say it is the world's most successful financial inclusion programme. Under the programme, out of over 21 crore accounts opened, 15 crore accounts are operational with an aggregate deposit of over Rs 32,000 crore," he said.

On the black money front, the President said the government has enacted a law to deal with non-disclosure of foreign income and assets and thus has put in place a "stringent legislative framework" to combat the problem.

Mukherjee said over Rs 1 lakh crore have been disbursed to more than 2.6 crore borrowers under the PM Mudra Yojana, of which 2.07 crore are women entrepreneurs.

On revitalising public sector banks, Mukherjee said the 'Indradhanush' programme to infuse Rs 70,000 crore into state run lenders will ensure credit flow in the economy.

This is another scam like EPF pension by the government. For getting the accident insured amount one has to produce FIR,post Mort-em report etc.to the dispensing authorities. To get these documents one has to bribe.Ultimately the family of the deceased may not get any benefit at all.EPF pension is also similar government money making scheme i.e, after paying monthly subscription for thirty six years first of all one will get monthly pension of Rs.1500/- for thirteen years. If the subscriber dies within this period ,to transfer the pension to family, it is so difficult producing documents etc. ,ultimately family has to for go the pension considering the meager amount also.

    Dear readers,
27 state-owned banks have written off Rs 2.77 lakh crore ($1 billion) of bad loans in the last ten years.

Out of this, Rs 1.14 lakh crore ($16.8 billion) or 40 per cent of the total bad loans were written off during the last three years from FY 2012-'15. As mentioned by RBI governor Raghuram Rajan in one of his speeches, "This money would have allowed 1.5 million of the poorest children to get a full degree from the top private universities in the country, all expenses paid."
The amount of loss, that is Rs 3.29 lakh crore is much more than the Rs 1.86 lakh crore in case of the coal scam and Rs 2 lakh crore in the 2G scam.

Why Mr.President or Finance Minister is talking about those wavier?

4.Opposed FDI (for which I was happy because otherwise India will become again slave to foreign investors)-but now in the name of development raising FDI to almost 50% which is highly risky to any Country.Already most of the Ports,Refineries etc.,are owned by the private companies and they are enable to reduce the price.

In 2015 june, PM started 2 schemes of Insurance for the poor people….One is Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana its Master policy no is 7600 100 2458 and the yearly premium is Rs 330.. the policy covers the death of the Insured…
Second is Pradhan mantri suraksha bima Yojana, the annual premium is Rs 12….this covers accidental death only….

A large number of Indians may have subscribed to these Policies.. through direct debit to their bank accounts….
I do not think that any banks have issued any certificates to the insured…..

Only proof is the debit in the bank account....In case of claims, how the legal heirs are going to claim ???

If 20 crore Indians have subscribed to these two policies, then the premium collected will be in the range of 6840 crores…..

If this scheme is not well managed, then crores of rupees will be flowing to the Govt treasury without any efforts…

Good plan by xxxxx to loot public……

The average balance in these accounts comes to Rs.1500 per account. Banks need minimum average balance of Rs.1000 to support finnacle system. In fact the amount is floating funds received towards subsidies etc.which is immediately withdrawn and hence the actual balance in the available in individual accounts is virtually nil.
