New Delhi, Feb 23 (IANS): The Delhi High Court on Tuesday issued notice to Delhi Police and asked it file status report on bail plea of JNU Student Union president Kanhaiya Kumar, arrested for sedition.

Justice Pratibha Rani issued notice to Delhi Police and asked to file status report by Wednesday.

    This case is taking new turns everyday ,One thing i know for sure is that organizing such an event in honor of a terrorist was wrong in the first place .We may very well expect people holding rallies and candle light marches for AJmal Kasab ,yakub memon in future if this incident is taking lightly

    Parliament should debate the status report filed by the Delhi Police before the courts in the light of the disclosure made by the Zee TV journalist who resigned on Kanhaiya issue. The US Ambassador to India has rightly pointed out that "Universities are laboratories of thoughts" and youth should be protected from fear of injury if they express their views on a debatable issue. Otherwise the debate would turn to "Is India a democracy or an autocracy"?
